Debra currently operates an Independent Film and Television Consulting Firm where she has licensed and consulted on film and television programming worldwide.
She entered the film and television industry in 1994 working for the President of Production Legal at 20th Century Fox Corp. She transferred assignments to work with Legal contractors for Regency Films working on such films as (From Hell, Don’t Say a Word, Behind Enemy Lines, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, High Crimes and more).
In1999, Trimark Pictures announced their pending merger with Lionsgate Entertainment Corp. Debra was contracted to validate the entire library of over 3,500 titles. Upon completion of the contracted project, she was offered 2 options; a very huge bonus and last day at LGF or Stock Options and the job of Jaguar Systems Administrator/Dept. Head; responsible for Worldwide Rights of LGF Properties. She stayed with LGF until 2004 when she was offered the opportunity to own and operate her own Licensing and Distribution Consulting Firm.
In 2003, Debra acquired the V12 U.S. Films Television Library and signed an exclusive Distribution deal with Anderson International (sales agency for International Licensing). She decided to give LGF her notice, but not before introducing the President of Production (Michael Paseornek) to the Tyler Perry Play Library. LGF had been so good to her she wanted to return the favor and introduced them to what she felt would be the best acquisition in history. She saw the big picture and knew that her employers were risk takers. It was obvious as they took a chance allowing a paralegal from Production the opportunity to manage such an enormous library.
Fast Forward: 2015 was also a monumental year as we welcomed our Strategic Partners, required to maneuver around Hollywood and New York.
By, 2016, not only were we consulting on film and television, we were managing corporate events, international concerts and taking a leap of faith to work with Homelight Films, a faith based film group producing family films and television projects. Currently we are working on projects for Independent Productions and negotiating an international television sci-fi series acquisition for a client. 2020, Covid-19 hit and like most companies we found ourselves working from home. CB will continue to work from home as we are located in Los Angeles (a city still on lockdown). It’s been since March that we have all been confined in Los Angeles and are still in Stage 2. There is the possibility that we may re-open in October or November. CB will be moving our offices to a larger location to be able to maintain the 6 feet Social Distance that is now required. My staff now works from home and we utilize ZOOM and other social media contact tools. We find that we actually get more work done with less commuting to the office. I find that this is a time to look for the benefits of Covid-19 in a time that none of us have had to work in
